Planning a whole-home repipe

A repipe is one of those jobs that goes far better with a little planning up front. Before the first length of pipe comes out of the wall, it's worth answering a few questions.

What are we replacing, and why?

Old galvanised lines, recurring leaks, discoloured water, or a renovation that's opening the walls anyway, the reason shapes the scope.

How much disruption can you take?

Access, water shut-off windows, and which rooms come first all matter. A good plan keeps at least one bathroom working wherever possible.

What happens to the walls afterwards?

Patching and making good is part of the job. Agreeing the finish up front avoids surprises at the end.

Answer those three and the rest tends to fall into place.
